About FCCLA

1. What is FCCLA?

Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) is a dynamic and effective national student organization that helps young men and women become leaders and address important personal, family, work and social issues through vocational family and consumer sciences education. FCCLA is a unique organization because its programs are developed and led by the youth members.

2. How does FCCLA help members?

  • FCCLA challenges members to assume leadership roles at the local, district, state and national levels.
  • Chapter advisers who are family and consumer sciences teachers, help members develop leadership skills to use in the home, at work, and in the community.
  • Chapter members create and carry out projects that address concerns like:
    • Community service
    • Self-esteem
    • Family Relations
    • Peer Pressure
    • Career Exploration and Training
    • Teen Pregnancy and Parenthood
    • Managing Finances
    • Fitness and Nutrition
    • Substance Abuse
    • The Environment
    • Care of Children and the Elderly
