		BAND 3109 CREDITS: 5 PER SEMESTER PREREQUISITE: NONE GENERAL DESCRIPTION: This instrumental music group consists of grades 7-12. The year consists of the following: Field and street marching, presentation of these routines to the public during halftime shows and parades, providing pep-band music for sporting events, and preparing concert music for two major concerts throughout the year. Attendance at these functions is mandatory and part of the student?s grade. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in small-group and/or solo contests and clinics. PREREQUISITE: PREVIOUS INSTRUMENTAL STUDY AND/OR EXPERIENCE. MODE OF PRESENTATION: Attendance is essential for the effectiveness of the group. All students are responsible for their uniforms, music, and instruments checked out to them, COURSE INTENDED FOR: 9th-12th CHORUS 3190 CREDITS: 5 PER SEMESTER PREREQUISITE: NONE GENERAL DESCRIPTION: This choral group will study and sing a variety of musical styles. Proper singing technique will be emphasized along with drilling of the singing voice to increase range and volume. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in small-group and/or solo contests and clinics. The choir also performs two major concerts and a spring musical. Attendance at these events is mandatory and part of the student?s grade. Students are not required to be able to "read-music" to join this choir, but only have a desire to sing. MODE OF PRESENTATION: Attendance in the class is essential for the effectiveness of the course. Each student will be required to study, memorize and maintain all music checked out to him or her. Each student will be willing to demonstrate his/her vocal ability and how it applies to the music learned in this course. COURSE INTENDED FOR: 9th-12th
